December 2025 Product Updates

At Marvin, we’ve always been working toward building an always-on customer knowledge engine. A system that continuously learns, connects data across sources, and surfaces evidence-backed insights where teams need them.

This month, we focused on feeding that engine with richer data and giving teams better ways to analyze, synthesize, and distribute insights. From accelerating analysis workflows to expanding how research flows across your organization, here is everything we launched in December.

Affinity Mapping: Speed without losing control

One of the most common concerns researchers have about AI is losing nuance in exchange for speed. Manual affinity mapping is useful, but sorting hundreds of notes and highlights can take days.

When you have hundreds of snippets and notes to cluster, a blank board can be overwhelming. You want a head start, but you don’t want an algorithm to decide the final strategy for you.

Affinity Mapping in Marvin is purpose-built for research.

This feature is designed to help researchers accelerate analysis without handing too much decision-making to AI. Researchers can start by asking Marvin’s AI to scan notes and group them into suggested themes. In seconds, the data is organized. From there, researchers take the lead. You can drag, drop, rename, merge, and refine themes using your own judgment and expertise.

Why this matters: This turns a day-long synthesis session into a focused review. You get the velocity of AI with the precision of your own intuition. You maintain control over the strategy while Marvin handles the organization.

Invite Marvin via email: Never miss a conversation

Security policies and IT restrictions often make it difficult to connect calendars to third-party tools. Or perhaps you’re jumping onto a last-minute call that isn’t on your primary calendar. Or you simply forgot to add Marvin to your call. That used to mean you had to take manual notes and hope you captured everything.

Now you can invite Marvin to meetings via email. Each Marvin project has a unique email address. Simply add that address to your calendar invite as a guest. Marvin will join to automatically take notes, transcribe the conversation, and surface key themes. Once the meeting ends, it files the recording into the correct project. You can hit the ground running with transcription, notes, summary, and themes ready for deeper analysis.

Why this matters: Marvin ensures no insight gets lost due to technical hurdles. It expands access to users who cannot integrate their full calendars so they can still capture high-fidelity data effortlessly.

AI Project Updates: Keep stakeholders informed automatically

“Can you give me a quick update on our ongoing project?”

Sounds familiar? Stakeholders want to know “what’s new,” but they rarely have time to dig through raw files or watch hour-long videos. Previously, you had to pause your work to manually write a summary of the new interviews conducted and files you’ve added. Now, Marvin handles that for you.

Marvin now generates automated Project Updates. AI scans for new files, survey responses, and updated notes, creating a concise daily digest of activity. At the end of the month, it rolls these up into a timeline view.

Why this matters: This update helps to create a self-serve culture for insights. Visiting stakeholders can jump into a project and instantly get a summary to help them catch up. They get the information they need immediately, and you spend less time writing status updates.

AI Presentation: Insights you can watch and listen to

Sometimes even the most brilliant insights can get buried in long, dense research reports.

Built with visual and auditory learners in mind, we’ve launched AI Presentations to turn every published Insight into a rich, multi-modal experience. Marvin now automatically generates slide-based summaries and high-quality audio narration for your research. This allows busy stakeholders like Executives or Product Managers to watch or listen to research findings while on the go. The presentation format makes insights easier to share, faster to consume, and far more entertaining for the entire organization.

Why this matters: AI presentation removes the friction of traditional documentation and bridges the gap between researchers and stakeholders. Ultimately, this is about increasing the reach and impact of your research so that user-centric decisions happen by default.

New capabilities to refine insights and increase influence

We also shipped several updates to strengthen Marvin as your unified system of record for customer knowledge. These launches ensure insights flow seamlessly beyond the research team.

Dscout integration: Connect your fieldwork data to your knowledge hub

In addition to usability tests, you can now bring Dscout diary studies and media surveys directly into Marvin. Video files are automatically linked to participants’ survey responses and organized into a structured, searchable format in Marvin. All of this data becomes part of your central customer knowledge hub. You can now query, analyze, and synthesize this data alongside interviews, notes, and other customer data sources.

Salesforce integration: Keep sales and CS in the loop

Imagine a customer shares frustration about a feature during a research interview. Days later, a sales or customer success rep reaches out without knowing about the issue.

This disconnect leads to missed context and poor customer experience.

Our update to the Salesforce integration ensures that knowledge flows out of Marvin, not just into it. When a customer completes an interview or fills out a survey, Marvin automatically adds a note to the Salesforce Contact record. Sales and CS teams see insights directly in the tools where they work.

Upload your own Discussion Guides

We also added a highly requested quality-of-life update. You can now upload .docx discussion guides directly into Marvin. Bring your existing guides from Word or Google Docs straight into Marvin with your tables, headers, and colors intact. It’s a small change that saves you time every time you set up a study.

If you’re starting from scratch, Marvin’s AI can help you write a guide instead. It uses existing interviews and project goals to create tailored questions in minutes.

New in beta: Agentic Ask AI

Last but certainly not least, Agentic Ask AI is now in beta for all Enterprise accounts. It is built to think longer before it responds. When you ask a question, it looks across your entire workspace and data from all time. It weighs evidence, challenges its own assumptions, and responds with a clear point of view, backed by citations to the original source data. The result feels less like a search and more like a thoughtful research analyst who took the time to truly understand.

Looking ahead to 2026

2025 has been a pivotal year for Marvin. As a customer-first company, Marvin always views your feedback as our north star. This year, that feedback pushed us to become an always-on knowledge engine for your organization. A shift to empower non-researchers to generate insights at the speed of development without sacrificing rigor. So, thank you!
